Me: Nathan, it's time to pick up your toys.
Nathan: I don't want to.
Me: You were told that you'd have to pick up the toys if you chose to get them out.
Nathan: (Not said snotty - just a thought) When I get big I don't think you'll be my parents.
Me: Who do you think will?
Nathan: Probably Grandma and Papa.
......long pause......
Nathan: You and dad will probably be my cousins.
At least he still acknowledges that you'll be related...:-)
ReplyDeleteThat kid is always thinking :)
ReplyDeleteSusan

ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteJust had this conversation with Olivia. Only hers was said very snottily and with a severe attitude.
ReplyDeleteMumbled under the blankets before a mandated nap:
"I wish you weren't even my mom."
Deep breathe, "who would you choose for a mom instead of me?"
Rolling of eyes, "dad"
