The nurse called at about 11:30 with the results from Jack's upper GI/small bowel test. There is nothing blocked and nothing twisted, so that is good. She said that he didn't reflux while he was drinking the barium, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have reflux. I asked why, and she said that just because he doesn't reflux with one drink doesn't mean he doesn't have it, especially with the family history. I told her that he turned for the worse after we'd been there and also that we'd started again with the nebs. She said to keep doing the nebs every 4 hours and to keep an eye on him. If he's still coughing by Monday then they'll need to see him again.
I called Justin with the results and he said that Jack seemed to be doing better this morning. He said that he's not coughing and choking as much which is WONDERFUL! I also asked the nurse how long it would take to see results with the new medication and she said up to a week. With that said, hopefully we're on the up-hill climb.

Alex did a barium test and got the same results: No reflux, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have it. He was put on baby Prilosec (I always thought unnecessarily, but what do I know?). They gradually took him off of it about a year later. He's been doing well, other than the rare need for a neb.
I'm glad Jack seems to be doing better.
Super!
Tayler had a barium and they told us she had reflux. Yeah, like we didn't know, but hey we helped build Sanford. Anyhow, after three outfits a day for about a year, she just gradually grew out of it. I am too stuborn and we didn't give her any meds for it.
Now Grace has reflux they wanted to do a Barium but again my stubborness said nope, we paid for one 6 years ago just for the test to tell us she had reflux something we already knew. So we will go through three outfits for a year until the mash potatoes keep things down.
Oh yeah means baths nightly if not twice daily.
We smell the stench of spit up as well.
Cam and Sarah.
