A day with the kids

I swear I have the best kids ever! I woke up today and had little milk, no laundry soap, and Nathan needed a few more things for school, so I packed up the kids and we headed to Sioux Falls.

We arrived at the mall (a place I never go) at 11am. My friend, Linda, told me about a sale at JCPenney that I wanted to check out. We started at the food court and after eating Burger King (Natey) and pizza (Claire and I) we were off to find the best bargain.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Sioux Falls mall, the food court is on one side and Penney's is on the TOTAL opposite. I actually did ok though. Nathan and Claire did VERY well. I found some good things. My friend Tracy (the jealous one) ;) told me she got her son some long sleeved shirts and I ended up doing the same. It was well worth my time.

After that, we stopped and got something to drink and were on our way to another store. I had to stop at the cell phone place which took longer than I planned. The good thing is that they didn't ask how my phone got to be in the condition that it was in. The short story is that Justin was changing my faceplate and some how goofed it up. He obviously didn't do it on purpose, but nonetheless, it was goofed up. The cell guy decided he too was scared of it. :) Anyway, I have a ghetto replacement and mine will be back to me in 1 to 6 weeks.

I had to stop by a beauty supply store to get something and we were off to Walmart. This whole time the kids are being awesome. Claire didn't always love stopping, but she did very well.

We got to Walmart and I started to feel the contractions coming on. By the time we left the store I felt like people were staring at me because I was having such a hard time pushing the cart. Nathan was entertaining Claire and I KNOW people were watching them. Claire was laughing so hard people would stop to watch.

We got in the van at 4:10 and were beyond ready to come home. I gave Claire some milk and she fell asleep before we were even out of the city limits.

All in all it was a good day. I'm thankful to have such great kids!

I think Tracy's jealous!

This is only the 2nd day and my best pal Tracy can do nothing but talk about my Blog (I just can't stand that word!) I think she's secretly jealous. I think it's because she wants one and just isn't sure how to ask for help to get one. ;) HA!

Tonight has been interesting. After I got home for work, Justin had to go show a house that he's the landlord for. The kids and I ate supper while he was gone and as soon as Justin got home Natey wanted to ride Lightning McQueen. It was WAY to hot for it, but we did it anyway. I didn't figure he'd be out there long. I was right. It was too hot and being outside made him tired.

While we were outside, Natey and I decided that we'd like some popcorn from the movie theater. We went and got some at about 7:30 and it was still 97 out. That's just too much for 7:30 at night. ICK!

Anyway, we got home and Natey said his head hurt really bad, however, he didn't want to take any medicine. Then I came to the computer to start this process and he told me that his tummy didn't feel well either. I figured it was due to the butter on the popcorn. After a bit he came back over and said again that his tummy didn't feel any better. I noticed that his cheeks were quite rosy. I took his temp and it was 100.8.

I got him some Motrin and before he could take it he threw up. EEK! I took his temp again and it was 101.1. Now he's on his way to bed and it's 101.6. I hope this passes as fast as it came on. He looks beat.

Justin brought the kids to my work today so we could all have lunch together. It was AWESOME! I knew he was going to bring me something to eat, but I didn't know they were going to stay and eat with me. It made my whole day!

I've started having the contractions that I had when I was pregnant with Claire. This time around they seem to be a little more intense. I go back to the doctor on the 8th, so we'll see what she has to say about them.

Anyway, I'm tried so I'm going to bed. Here are some pictures of the cool kids group. :)

I'll try anything once....well not ANYTHING!

Ok, so I decided to jump on the BLOG bandwagon. I think it's because I'm really tired at work and there is nothing going on. Some of my relatives have BLOGS as well as friends. I guess I might as well try it out. I like theirs - maybe someone will like mine too.

Since our trip to Mayo, nothing major has popped up in our lives. Believe me, that's a good thing. One thing is for sure and many would agree....it's just too dang hot! What on earth is going on? This is crazy! I enjoy summer heat as much as the next person, but this is out of control. It's not fun when the kids can't even go outside to play.

Speaking of kids, this BLOG will be filled with stories about my kids. People, like the person I've become, used to drive me crazy. I find myself telling non-stop stories about my children. I do the training at work and I have to stop myself from time to time because I realize my trainee is fixin' to die if I continue with ONE MORE STORY. You can just see it in their face.

I have some good ones though. Nathan says some of the funniest things that just crack me up! I can't help it and have no idea where he gets it. Before we know it, Claire is going to be doing the same thing. She cracks me up now and she can only say daddy, dooo (what a cow says), thank you, bye-bye and a hand full of other words. For Claire, everything starts with a D. As I said before, a cow says 'doooo'. She says "Daint Do" for thank you and 'dye-dye' for bye-bye. If you ask her to say Mom or any variation of the word, she says "Daddy" with glee.

She took her first steps on Monday. She's getting really good at it. Nathan is so excited that Claire is finally a 'walkin' baby'. He's waited for this for quite some time. He got to see it first and then called me from the kitchen to the living room to see it for myself. I'm not sure who was happier about it, him or Claire.

We got Nathan's school supplies this week. He'll start back to pre-school on the 28th of August. I think he'll be glad to get back into it.

Claire finally got more teeth. She's had her bottom two for such a long time that we wondered if she'd ever get more! Finally one of the top ones came through. She looked like a hick! However, now she's popped the other top one and it looks like there are 3 more to come. We weren't too surprised by this since Nathan did the same thing. He had more teeth sooner, but they all came at once.

Here is a video of Claire walking. At one point I turned the camera because she was getting too close to me. Because I'm retarded, I thought the image would change as well, however, it didn't (duh). SO, you might get a touch of motion sickness when you watch it. Enjoy!
