Hey! Troll!

Listen, when I started my blog, I never really expected people other than a few family members and friends to read it. I realize that it's slightly grown from its birth. Since the birth of my blog I've been spammed. I took care of that problem. Well - now I have a troll.

Um....troll..... I kinda expected my readers to have something above an 8th grade education.....you know - to keep up with me and understand where I'm coming from? Are you following me? CAN you follow me?

When you wrote "let the loser!!! rest and ieave him alone" on my post about my Boyfriend's Birthday, you kinda made yourself look stupid. Don't worry, I deleted it for you. Because if I didn't - how embarassing for you.

The !!!'s after loser was understood, but if you'd like to maybe not look like such a dumbass, you could have put it in bold. I'm not positive that your education level would grant you that wish, but I'm just sayin'.....

And as far as I can tell, the word leave - which I assume you were trying to spell, still starts with the letter l .... at least in the great state of South Dakota.

Now, you can still come here and read if you'd like, but your cowardly comments really are just not necessary. I ADORE chicken shit people like you who hide behind anonymity only because it gives you big balls.

Don't hide - it's not worth it. Own what you have to say. It's very freeing. T-H-A-T is what gives you the big balls.

Everyone else - have a great weekend! I plan to.

Happy Birthday Boyfriend

It's my boyfriends birthday today.

Happy birthday, Boyfriend!

What do you suppose a birthday's like for him? I mean, he can buy anything he wants. He can go anywhere he wants to go. Do you think his perfect day would be to just sit home and be with his family? Maybe.

On November 11th he'll be releasing a new LIVE DVD. You have NO idea how exciting this is to me. I mean, I saw it twice - but i could see it every day. EVERY DAY PEOPLE! On GAC the other day they said "This would make a great stocking stuffer". A stocking stuffer? You expect for me to wait from Nov. 11th until Dec. 25th? Um - no chance. That baby will be in my hand Nov. 11th and in my DVD player.

I found something interesting when I was looking for a new picture of my boyfriend. And while I'm talking about the picture, can I just say Yum, yum, bubble gum! Go team! Anyway, I found this website that says his real name is Richard Keith Urbanski. For some reason I found that very funny. I'm not positive that it's true. I've always heard that his birth name is Keith Lionel Urban. Hmmmm........

Anyway, the main reason for this post is to say Happy Birthday Boyfriend!

My budding photographer

I've shown you before that Claire has mad skill with the camera. I get a bit freaked out when she wants to take pictures with my camera. I could let her use my old Kodak, but I never have batteries for it. Plus, that camera eats up the batteries like you've never seen.

Anyway, after Claire took these beautiful shots with my camera (on my phone) today, I went out and bought her this for Christmas.

The possibilities will be endless!

Cotton Candy Anyone?

This picture is my sisters favorite picture of me as a little girl. I don't really remember having it taken, but I do remember walking around with my face painted.

This was taken in Midland, Texas. I'm guessing I must have been about 3 or 4 years old.

My sister and I spoke about this photo not very long ago. I found it and thought you guys might like to see it.

Kinda funny. :)

Have a good week!

A Nathanism

Today while Natey and I were waiting in line for him to be dropped off at school, we saw a little boy in a short sleeve shirt with no coat. It's windy and 40 degrees. It's COLD!

I said "HOLY COW! That kid doesn't even have a coat on!"

Natey, obviously very disgusted, said "Well his parents sure don't think very smart!"

uhhh - I'm with ya little buddy. I get what you're tryin' to say. I'm shizzle to your nizzle. I'M with ya. :)

Quick update

Thanks everyone - for taking the time out to leave a comment yesterday.

Yesterday morning we called our dentist here in town to see if he'd look at Nathan and give us some direction. He didn't call us back yesterday, so we're still in limbo.

The teeth that are the most affected are his back molars. Justin was told that they don't fall out until around age 10 or 11. He's almost 6 1/2 right now. I don't believe that they would put tooth colored fillings in the back of his teeth, so that makes me think that the tooth colored fillings will go somewhere else. I'm going to have to call and ask. Natey's already complaining of pain, so something, for sure, has to be done. I had Natey open his mouth for me last night, and I could see large brown spots between his two molars on both sides, up and down.

For a few years now, Natey's had what I thought were allergies. I'm rethinking all of it now. We'd give him allergy medication, but it never really helped. I mean, it was kind of a surface cure, but nothing really major. The second Justin told me that Natey had to have so much work done, I instantly thought that Natey's 'allergies' is really acid reflux. It also quite possibly explains Jack chronic runny nose.

But first things first; we're seeking a 2nd opinion. My BFF from high school is a dental assistant and sent me an AWESOME e-mail. Thanks for laying it out the way you did, Shell. You had so many great points. Lori B - thanks for your input as well. Everyone - thanks for giving me the opinion that I asked for. I really appreciate it.

As always - stay tuned.

Have a great weekend.

I'll say it again - HOLY HORSE BALLS!

Justin took Nathan to the dentist Tuesday. A different dentist, I might add. Not one with the or else attitude. As things would turn out, I think what happened was by me not calling her back, she retracted his referral to the dentist that ended up seeing Nathan on Tuesday. Anyway - whatever.....

Justin took Nathan to the dentist and I had NO idea this would be the report. Natey told me the other day that when he chewed on one side it hurt. I knew that wasn't good. I'm almost positive that nothing could have prepared me for what Justin was told.

Natey needs $2,869 worth of work done - to his BABY TEETH. Do you need to read that again? Go ahead. I'll wait.

Are you with me?

$2,869 on BABY TEETH. SERIOUS?

Let me break it down for you. He needs:
4 tooth colored fillings for $170 each
1 regular filling for $123
4 pulp treatments for $148 each (I hear this is like a mini root canal)
4 stainless steel crowns for $210 each
2 extractions at $115 (these are actually optional)
3 sealants at $48 each
an off-site care charge of $260

They want to put him under and do this all at once. Now, keep in mind that some of this could be done while he's awake. I realize that. However, for Nathan it's different. He has a horribly sensitive gag reflex. He's gagged so hard while getting his teeth cleaned that he threw up.

So. People. Tell me what you'd do about this. The $2,869 price tag is before insurance pays what they'll pay. However - this is going to be done at a hospital with him knocked out. Dental insurance doesn't pay for anesthesia. I'm not even positive that it's going to pay for the hospital.

If you've never commented - TODAY IS YOUR DAY. Even if you want to be anonymous. BE MY GUEST!

Talk people. TALK!

Natey - 1st grade

Nathan Meyer, Age 6.
Do you know the book "Ramona Quimby, age 8"? Nathan is nothing like Ramona, but when I typed that it made me think of her. 'Claire Meyer, Age 8' would have a better fit. I'm positive I'm not even ready for 'Jack Meyer, Age 8'. He's already a handful at almost 2. (shudder)
Anyway, here's Natey, Age 6 - proudly displaying his love for the Dallas Cowboys for his 1st grade picture.

Aberdeen weekend

This past weekend our family went to Aberdeen. It was my nephew's 8th birthday.

Here's Spencer!
Get this! He turned 8 years old and this is the first birthday party that I've ever been able to attend. Can you believe that? I'd always worked weekends at dispatch prior to this year and was saving my vacation, usually, for something else. This year I took the day off work and we headed to the party.

OH! Look what we got behind on the way up there.
Isn't it enormous? Looks a lot like my butt. Moving on.....

Anyway, Spencer's party was a pool party at the Y. We only packed a suit for Nathan because I didn't think the little kids would want to swim. I, of coarse, was wrong. I should have packed a suit for Claire. I didn't realize the pool was going to look like this.

Nathan had a good time. He didn't exactly play with the other kids - more like around the other kids. I think he had a good time though. He gets pretty shy around other people and turns into a wall flower rather quickly. He had a good time on his own - doing his thing.

Claire was content playing with her Grandma. She's always willing to give me a smile when I point the camera in her direction.
Exhibit A
and B

and C

and D.

I feel the need to point this out because THIS is the kind of pictures I get of Nathan.

Oh yeah - that's right.

I also got to see my......step nephew's? Ok, I'm totally aware that that's not a word, but I'm not sure how else to describe them. They are my sister-in-laws step sons. There.

I'm not sure how long it's been since I've seen these boys. I'm talking years though. My guess is 4 years - but possibly more. I know they were at my wedding. I'm pretty sure I've seen them since having Nathan - I just don't remember it. I know I haven't seen them since before I got pregnant with Claire. Doesn't matter I guess - It's been a long time.

They were both at Spencer's party, but I didn't want to rush right up and hug them - taking the chance that they didn't have a clue who I was. So - I waited. Then one of the boys left. They said that he probably wouldn't come back. What the heck? Why didn't I just say hi? :(

After the party we went to eat at Pizza Ranch. They called the one that left and asked if he'd come to Pizza Ranch so I could at least talk to him. Thankfully he did. I didn't realize how much I missed them until I saw them again. Here they are.....

Josh is on the left, me in the middle (you're welcome) and Jeremy is on the right. Josh is now 15 and Jeremy must be 19 I think. He graduated last year - I know that much for sure. Aren't they short? Ok, so I obviously come up to their shoulders (without the stool that I'm standing on that you can't see). That's why we are laughing.

My kids LOVE these boys. Every time they would come back from a visit up there they would tell me that one of the boys came to play with them. Here is a picture of Claire and Josh. So stinkin' sweet!

Here is a picture of Zachary. He's Spencer's brother - as if you needed me to tell you. They look so much a like. I got about a million pictures of him, but this one is my favorite.

He LOVED hugging Jack. I tried to get a picture of it, but was never fast enough. I'm not sure what I was doing all weekend, but taking pictures of Jack wasn't it. I don't have a single picture of him. I'll start saving for his juvenile therapy bills tomorrow. :)

It rained almost the whole weekend. In between rain on Sunday, Josh and Jeremy took the kids outside to play football. Claire had a BLAST!

We all had so much fun!

On our way home, we stopped to take a picture of Mater in Watertown. I saw this on the way up and told Nathan that it was Mater, but he didn't believe me. Seeing is always believing.

Milbank trip

Last weekend we went to Milbank to see my family. My Mom, Step-dad, Grandparents and my sisters family were all there. It was a kill two birds with one stone trip. It was a trip home to see my mom, step-dad and Grandparents, but it was also my nieces 6th birthday.

None of us had seen each other in a while, so it was a great time. My grandparents live in New Mexico, so any time they come near, we make sure to see them.

I know you're dying to see some pictures. Wait no longer.

Here is the birthday girl and her cake.

Here are my grandparents.

Evie and her Great Grandmother.

Here is Claire with her Grandma Suze (my mom).

Jack was very busy. He was on the entertainment committee. We couldn't get enough of his....entertainment. Nathan was very busy himself. He was in a one man Brick Breaker tourney. He took first place. PS: Brick Breaker is the game he's playing on my phone. Here's Jack with his Great Grandparents. His only living set. This is such an important picture to me. So sweet! You know my success with getting all 3 Meyer children to look at a camera while having their picture taken, right? This trip was no different. My Mom has a fish that Jack LOVED. He couldn't stop looking at it. He had to get on his toes and stretch to see it though.

Look at this picture of Claire and her Great Grandpa. So stinkin' cute!

And last but not least, I was trying to get a picture of myself with my Mom and Grandparents. This was as good as it got.

Claire was trying to recall who was all at Grandma Suze's house the other night. When she got to her Great Grandpa she said "What was that other boy's name?"

Ha!

Only Claire.

Claire in the rain

Here is a video I took on Monday of Claire playing in the rain. To say that she was having fun is an understatement. Heed my warning - you kinda need to look away if you are prone to motion sickness. I just wanted you to hear her laugh. It's intoxicating.

The cut

I'm sure this is much more than you've ever wanted to see, but here is my finger. Andrea, this post isn't for you - trust me. Actually, it doesn't look all that bad when it's cleaned up.

Work was quite interesting yesterday. Washing someones hair with a glove on my had wasn't my idea of a good shampoo, but I didn't have any other choice.
I was at work last night until almost 9:45. Eeek! I'm getting off early today though.

So anyway - here are some pictures of my more slim, sleek finger.

Who needs a finger tip anyway?

Ok, before we start and before anyone else points it out, I realize I look tired. It's really not the look of tired as much as it was stress - and pain.

I'm kinda flipping you off in this picture. It's not on purpose - ok, so depending on who you are it might be - I'm just showing you the wonderful thing I did at work yesterday.

I was cutting my last client of the day and cut a hole in my finger. It's not the pad, it's more on the side, but just as large. It's probably about the size of a jelly belly - I think.

*Not for the squeamish*

The blood that came from my finger was crazy. I knew the second that I did it that it was bad. It didn't take long to bleed, but before it started REALLY bad, I could see that it wasn't a slice, but that there was a chunk missing.

Blood was dripping on the top of my vanity while people were trying to tell me what to do. We have guidelines that we must follow - and I was trying to follow them - but there was so much blood.

We have a lady that works there that we call the voodoo doctor. She used to be a flight nurse, so we rely on her quite a bit to help in times like these.

She came to my vanity to put a band-aid on it. I knew that I needed to apply pressure to it, but there was no skin there and it hurt like hell. She put a band-aid on it, but it was so tight that my finger tip was turning purple. That obviously wasn't going to work.

She put gauze on it and then a band-aid, but it didn't take long for the blood to soak through that. I thought I should have a stitch, but people kept saying that the doctors wouldn't stitch it and to 'suck it up'. Oh yes they did!

Get this! We even found my piece of skin on the floor. That was when my client got a bit icked out. Finally I just put a glove on and finished up her hair. I had her dry it while I figured out my next step.

The picture you see is of a wrap that LaVonna (the voodoo doctor) did for me. It hurts, but I'm trying to figure out how on earth I'm going to work like this. I obviously can't get it wet because the bandage will fall off.

I'm wondering how on earth I'm going to wash my own hair? Speaking of my hair - should we talk about it? :D

I look dead. Does anyone else see the brown bags under my eyes? Are we still talking about my throbbing finger? Just wondering. :) I just realized that I look like I have only one earring on making me look like a pirate. I had the other one on too - it was just turned.

Whatever. The point is that I cut my finger tip....thing....off....and it hurts. And I thought you should know about it.
