Another Normal test

I got a call from the doctor yesterday about 2pm. The nurse said that Jack's EEG was normal. I would have been shocked had it been anything other than normal. So where do we go from here? Dr. Henry is going to call the Pediatric Neurologist to see if we need to do anything else and to see if she has any idea of what's going on.

Jack's doing much better at sitting up, as you saw yesterday. He couldn't have been happier with himself, could he? I don't think so. He's more willing to feed himself with his left hand, but he doesn't always hit the mark. It's hard to know if he's actually doing better or if we want it so bad that we're taking anything and running with it. I've noticed that he still leans to his left from time to time and that he also supports his left side more than his right. Do you suppose it feels different to him? I often wonder if it does.

The EEG test was quite interesting. I had a hard time keeping Jack awake on the way to SF. He actually fell asleep for probably 2 minutes because I was failing at my task. Finally I had to take him out of his car seat. If you don't know me, this was a HUGE deal to me. I DO NOT like for my kids to be out of their car seats. It was the only way to keep him awake though. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

We got checked in and were taken to where the test would be held. It was very interesting. They measured his head and marked on him with a black sharpie. All I could think of was his pictures that he'll have taken today. Lordy! They marked him up and stuck electrodes all over. Justin thought he counted 18 of them. Each electrode had a colored wire. After getting the electrodes where they were supposed to be, they wrapped Jack's whole head in gauze. Jack wasn't a huge fan of that. The good part is that he went right to sleep. They wanted to watch him fall asleep, sleeping, and waking up. They let him sleep for 30 minutes. When that was done, they had him look at a strobe light. After that the test was over. It didn't take long at all.

Today we'll have another session with PT/OT. Then I have a few people coming to the Underground (if you don't understand that, please don't ask) ;) and also 9 month pictures for Jack.

Tomorrow is the big day. Thanks to my co-worker, April, I get to go with Justin to take Nathan to meet his teacher and see his school. I'm quite excited, actually.

Anywho, that's all for now. I'm out!
