Lost tooth

That's RIGHT! Last night, Nathan lost his "first tooth ever" as he kept telling people. He was BEYOND excited. He wasn't the only person that was excited - I was! I'm not a tooth person, but when your tooth is sitting perpendicular to the others - it's time to pull the freakin' thing out of your mouth.

As you can see, Nathan goes from EXTREME EXCITEMENT to IfYouTakeOneMorePictureI'mProbablyGoingToDie.......

Yeah - that last one is a doozie. HA!!! Anyway - it was big news! Tracy said that the tooth fairy leaves Dawson a $2 bill at her house. We didn't have any of those, of coarse. I was really worried that Nathan would think that it's the same everywhere and demand a $2 bill. (Yeah right - demand.)

I asked Justin how much he wanted to leave him and we agreed on 2. Then he decided it was a bigger deal than 2 - so we left $3. I'm positive I only got $1 when I was little. Inflation is unkind. ;)

Oh - one last thing. Nathan couldn't wait to put his tooth under his pillow. However, I had a horrible experience with this growing up and almost had a panic attack at his very thought.

Once I put my tooth under my pillow and before I went to bed I checked to see if it was still there. Well, I knocked it off the bed. I FA-REEEEKED out! My mom was sure the tooth fairy would leave me money nonetheless. But I was sure that my chance of a new one dollar bill was over. It was a huge event - or at least in my memory it was.

Natey told me he couldn't wait to put the tooth under his pillow. I said "Oh! Well all parents got a memo that said 'if you have a brother or sister in your room, you have to put all teeth in a special place - NOT under your pillow, so that nobody gets disturbed'." He took it for gold and told the story over and over.

GO MOM! =o)

What we've been up to

I'm sick =(

I have a lot of pictures to post and a lot of things to talk about. It will have to wait. I have strep and don't feel so great. I feel better today than I did yesterday.

You know when you're driving down a city street and see the car in front of you hits a squirrel ane by the time you pass it, the poor little squirrel is kinda flopping around? Yeah, I totally felt like the squirrel.

I'm taking 2000 mg's of Amoxicillin and Vicodin for pain. I'm not sure how anyone can get hooked on Vicodin. It makes me sleep. It takes my pain away, but it also knocks me out cold.

I'll get you all caught up on what I was going to post about, but for now, I'm going back to bed.

Migraines and more

Update: The nurse called today and said that my MRI was normal. That's great news, but doesn't give me one single answer to any of my problems. I have a follow up appointment in September with her. Maybe I'll get some answers then.

Oh, and yes, Shannon, they must have located my brain..... Jackass!

Natey and Dawson started football practice on Monday. They were SO excited about it. I seriously think they thought they had been drafted.

I have pictures and a cute video to share, but I've had migraines for the past 3 days. Bad ones. Ones like I've never had before. Last night I was dry heaving at work. I left the salon in a total disaster so that I could come home and go to bed. SO NOT FUN.

Tracy has a fun post of the boys and a cute video of them. Go check it out. I'll try to post mine tomorrow.

I called the neurologist yesterday to get my MRI results and to tell her about these horrible migraines I've been having. Nobody ever got back to me. I would have to assume my MRI is fine. No news is good news, right?

I better go. The light of the computer is hurting my head. That can only mean one thing......and it's not good.

Decorator to the stars

....and when I say stars, I really mean Tracy's front yard. =)

Let me set the scene.

It's 5:30am.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

My alarm went off. It was time for me to get up and blow up 33 balloons that would soon be used for fun decoration.

I rolled out of bed. Literally. My hip was hurting. Seriously people - my body is falling apart.

I rolled out of bed and got started. I watched Nashville Star while filling balloons with helium.

I really considered doing a video blog while filling 33 balloons, but didn't. I looked awesome. I really should have shared it with the world. Ok, world is a bit much. More like the 81.9 of you (average - obviously...sometimes more, sometimes less) that visit each day.

Fill the balloon. Tie the balloon. Fast forward through the commercials on the TV. Tie the ribbon on the balloon. Tie weight to the end of the ribbon. I've got mad multi-tasking skills - thanks to 10 years of dispatching. Ha!

Thump.
Thump.

What on earth IS that?

Thump.

Ahhh! It was my little helper. Nathan was beyond excited when I told him about my balloon idea. He couldn't wait to help me.

Waaah! Waaah!

Crap! Jack's awake.

Go get Jack. Give him milk. Fill more balloons. Tie more balloons. Put ribbon on balloons. Tie on the weight.

How many of you have I lost to far? Just checking......

The time - 7am. I told Nathan that we would have to be very quiet so that we didn't wake anyone up at Tracy's house. Nathan woke up Justin so he could take care of Jack while we were gone. He couldn't have been happier to help us. That! was a flat out lie.

I'd made a sign the night before to hang on Tracy's door. This is fun stuff, people.

I think we did a wonderful job.

My little helper. He's kinda hard to see in the sea of balloons. It's almost like finding Waldo.

He did manage to get this beautiful shot of me.

Ok, so I over did it with the pictures. But I've got mad skills, people. =)

33 things I know for sure

These aren't 33 random things.

No.

These are 33 things I know for sure about Tracy Renae Hirsch Ferber.

Lets get started!

  1. She's the older sister to her brother, Jamie.
  2. She was in Gymnastics in High School.
  3. She was also a cheerleader in High School.
  4. She went to High School in Pierre, SD.
  5. She went to college at SDSU in Brookings, SD.
  6. When I met her, she was dating a guy named James.
  7. She used to get her hair and nails done at the salon I was working at.
  8. She and James broke up. It was just as well. It was never going to last.
  9. We started hanging out and decided to go to Sioux Falls for the night.
  10. She was a bit weirded out by me because I was weirded out by EVERYTHING.
  11. Thankfully, she looked past my problem of being around people I didn't know - and still wanted to be my friend.
  12. She found another boyfriend and moved to MN.
  13. We wrote each other a letter each week - the old fashion way....pen to paper.
  14. We wrote about our lives and what was going on in them. We sent pictures - that sort of thing.
  15. I told her about the boys I'd met at the Sheriff's Office and told her about the one I was going to marry.
  16. I asked her to be in my wedding and to walk with one of my cute new friends.
  17. A year later - they got married. 8 months later - we met Dawson.
  18. She and I have a friendship like sisters.
  19. There are days that we need a break from each other.
  20. Then the next day the break is over and we simply must talk to each other.
  21. She is kind.
  22. She is loving.
  23. She is beautiful.
  24. She is fun!
  25. She loves my kids as much as I love them.
  26. She understands the importance of family.
  27. She keeps a secret when she has to - the really important ones....but she doesn't like doing it.
  28. She doesn't like chocolate. I said these are things I know for sure. I didn't say I understood them.
  29. She's honest.
  30. She's loyal.
  31. She could have died when she was diagnosed with a blood disorder. We couldn't even talk about it to each other about it with out getting tears in our eyes.
  32. She's been there every - single - time I needed her.
  33. I love her a lot. THAT - I know for sure.

Happy 33rd Birthday Tracy!!!!

Father's Day

To the man I love.

My Husband.

The Father of my children.

Ooops!
How did that happen?
That might get old for you, but seriously, it doesn't for me.

Awwww, there you are. Well, there we are.

Sometimes I forget to tell you Thank You for the things you do while I'm complaining about things that you don't.
I also forget to tell you how much you mean to me from time to time.
Even if you weren't my husband, I'd still think you were really a great guy.
It's just - sometimes I forget to tell you.

So today, I want you to know how important you are to me.
Today I want you to know how much I care.
Today I want you to feel loved - because you are.
You're loved not only today, but everyday.

Today - the kids and I celebrate you.

Happy Father's Day!
