When Elmo Grows Up

Last night I took Nathan and Claire to see "When Elmo Grows Up" at the Arena in SF. Nathan has been to a few of these shows and knows what to expect. Claire, on the other hand, didn't. I was nervous that Claire would freak out. She's not always excited about unfamiliar things. I figured that she'd be ok as long as Nathan was there and having a good time.

On the ride to SF I would say "Who's ready to see Elmo?". Nathan was tired but would still say "Me" in the most unexcited monotone you've ever heard. I said "Claire, are you ready to see Elmo?" "No", she replied in her cute little girl voice. Wonderful.

After getting a quick bite to eat, we headed over to the arena. Like I said, this was all new to Claire, so she was taking it all in. Our seats were very close to the stage. The characters came right next to Nathan. He's still wondering why non of them hugged him. :) When the show started, I tried to capture Claire's face, but I had my camera set to take pictures of the stage and not her face. What I got was a very white, washed out Claire. I wish it would have turned out. She was SO excited. At one point they sang the Itsy Bitsy Spider and she was in heaven. Nathan finally perked up after having some M&M's.

We had a few things to do after the show and didn't get home until 11:15. You read that right, 11:15pm. We got home and got the kids right to bed. We were all exhausted. Natey fell asleep on the way home. Not Peach. Both of the kids have DVD players in the car. Don't get all 'boy that's fancy' on me. It's a must people - A MUST! Peach was busy watching the same Dora that she's seen a gazillion times. She'd hate to miss a moment of it.

Anyway, here is my slide show of what we got to see last night. We had such a fun time! Enjoy!

Very very cute! We took my daughter to see the Wiggles right after she turned two and she loved it! The kids are adorable!

I'm glad I found your blog, we are both Mom's and both 911 dispatchers! A lot in common!

When my kids were little I took them to Sesame Street on ice. I was sooo excited. They were bored out of their brains.

We never did that again :(
